Top Ten Tuesday – Ways to Travel Oz

Australia is a vast country covered by a variety of landscapes – from tropical rainforest and crystal white beaches to barren red soiled outback…and even snow capped mountains.

And with a variety of landscape comes an equally diverse way of travelling across them. So this weeks Top Ten Tuesday features the Top 10 Ways to Travel Australia.

1 – Oz Experience

The Oz Experience is probably one of the most famous ways to get around Australia. The basis of it is a party bus which takes you where you need to go, with heaps of like minded people. Chocked full of activities, discounts and VIP night s along the way. Bit more expensive though – but worth a look if you’re travelling on your own and want an easy way to meet people

2 – Greyhound Bus

The cheapest way to get from A – B in relative comfort! With hundreds of routes, stop offs and timetables and with a heap of packages to choose from the Greyhound is one of the most favoured ways to get around Oz. Grab a night bus and save on a nights accommodation too!

3 – Campervan

Load you’re life in the boot, set up the bed and drive! My favoured form of travel throughout my Oz trip. It’s great for flexibility and an ideal way to save money of accommodation. There’s loads of well used laybys and beach car parks so you can pick your view! Why not meet a few other vanners along the way and convoy it up? Rentals from Backpacker Campers and Jucy come highly recommended.

4 – Foot

If you’re up for the challenge why not hike Oz? It doesn’t have to be the whole way, but getting out on foot is by far the best way to get the most of city life. Explore the back alleys, meet the locals. But if you’re hardcore you could always turn a trip down under into a good old walkabout!

5 – Bike

Pack those panniers up, don those uber tight shorts and cycle around. A great way to keep fit and see the sights. Just make sure you have enough water to keep you going!

6 – Plane

Australia is HUGE. And sometimes when you want to see the most of it the best way for some routes is by plane. Thnakfully internal flights are cheap as chips – check out Jetstar or Virgin Blue for the best deals.

7 – Motorcycle

What more could you want as a biker than glorious weather and hundreds of thousands of miles of long straight roads through some of the most impressive landscapes on earth? Grab you leather, your helmet and a few mates and hit the highway.

8 – Boat

If you fancy some adventure and a truly unique look at Australia why not sail it?! However if you’re not feeling that adventurous  – or loaded – perhaps sail the barrier reef or Whitsundays instead.

9 – 4 x 4

A must if you want to explore the true Australian outback or some of the more remote regions such as the Kimberlys. Hit the red dirt, wack on the off road button and the whole of Oz is your oyster.

10 – The Internet

So you’re planning your trip to Oz, or simply cannot afford to do it quite yet. The next best thing to travelling Australia is to read and explore the country via the internet. There are millions of travel blogs where you can follow other peoples Oz adventures, research places, trips and even take virtual tours.

If you can’t get down under simply get online.
