My Moroccan backpacking adventure has now come to an end – but although I’ve left the sunny surf of Taghazout behind and a whole heap of new friends to continue my adventure I still have thousands of pictures from my 4 months living and working there as a surf coach.
From a photography perspective especially Morocco is a heaps good place to explore with a camera – from the winding mazes of the souks through to the amazing ocean sunsets.
It’s been a tough decision but here are some of my top travel pics from my time there – all shot through my iPhone 5 and edited up using the Camera+ app …hopefully they’ll inspire you to put Northern Africa on your bucket list.

Did you do the valley jump? If so, any GoPro footage? Looks an awesome jump.
Cool selection mate. Especially like the contrast of colours in the camel shot.
hahaha i’m terrified of heights Neil so I opted out! One of my surf students took a GoPro to the highest jump though!
Great shots, nicely done!
cheers Shane – loving your running with the bulls posts!
Great shots Chris! Absolutely love them all. I can’t wait to check out Morocco, especially now!
you’l love it – but dont over stay!
It looks amazing! Great photos, cant wait to get their on our trip! We wont get there until roughly July 2014!
nice! make sure you get down to Taghzout for some surf!
In the last few weeks Morocco has suddenly become the place I want to go to next. It looks pretty amazing and I hear the food is great also. Am planning on Southeast Asia later in the year when I leave Europe, but am thinking a stop in Morocco just beforehand is a must.
it’s really good fun John – I’d just say don’t overstay which I think I did a bit! Guess it’s a completely different ball game backpacking it rather than working there though! If you go to Marrakech make sure you stay at Equity Point though – an epic hostel (and get down south and surf too of course!)
where about in Asia are you heading? I totally recommend Cambodia!
Looks beautiful! I’ve always heard good things about travelling in Morocco…
if you’re into your photography Andrea it’s a must!
