Birthday Surf Sessions!

Can you believe that half of this year has already flown by?! Mental stuff!

I aways look forward to June though as it’s my birthday month! Turning 28 didn’t disappoint…apart from being one step closer to 30 of course which is kind of scary!haha!

I spent the weekend surfing, road tripping, partying and generally doing everything I love to do surrounded by amazing faces, basking in the Australian sunshine despite it being the thick of winter here!

It was actually my third birthday in Byron Bay and it never seems to disappoint!

Overall though it was a fairly chilled month as I’m knuckling down on the saving front, but I was stoked to be invited back to the Philippines at the end of the month to work alongside the tourism board there to help promote the country!

Still, more on that over the coming weeks!

So here’s my stats round up for June 2015;

Money Breakdown

Australia – £676.36 over 29 days = £23.32 per day

The Philippines – £0 over 1 days = £0 per day My trip to The Philippines was a collaboration between Tourism Philippines and myself – as well as a few other awesome bloggers – so I didn’t have to dip into my wallet for it!

Total spent – £486.03 over 30 days = £22.54 per day

Seems my daily spend is starting to creep up slightly! Although I’m putting it down to a rather excessive weekend of birthday party chaos!

Back To The Philippines!

Cheapest Place – Obviously the Philippines as it was a press trip, but I haven’t actually bounced around much this month so it would’ve won out anyway! $1.5 for a litre of rum…yes please!

Most Expensive Place – Given my lack of adventures this month Byron Bay tops the list!

Biggest Splurge/Unforeseen Expense – No crazy splurges this month, I’m sitting tight, saving hard and being pretty careful!  I did treat myself to some good food and partying over my birthday but it would be rude not to right!?

Highlight – It has to be a tie between my birthday weekend and heading back to the Philippines! My birthday was full of awesome surf sessions, partying chaos, epic food and road trips with my buddies…perfect way to celebrate  another year on the planet!

Lowlight – To be honest I have nothing to complain about or be sad about…maybe getting slightly older?hahahaha!

Top Shot

Byron Bay is stupidly photogenic and my wanders around this little coastal hippy town always pack my camera full of awesome photo goodness! My favourite this month has to be from a surf trip with my buddy Crawf which even got featured in the Byron Bazaar!

What’s Next?

July should be a pretty casual month of travel again. I’ve just finished off my trip around the Philippines which was epic and I can’t wait to share some more of the pics and stories from that beautiful country.

As with the last couple of months Byron Bay will continue to be my base but I’ve also teamed up with TomTom  to test out their new Bandit Action Camera (check out my review of the TomTom Bandit here) so I have a couple of mini trips that I’m super stoked about!

Still planning some of my adventures for the end part of the year which are starting to shape up but you all know how my planning changes heaps so I’ll let you know when everything is fully put together!

For the meantime sit tight, enjoy the Byronian goodness and enjoy the upcoming posts from my last few months of travels including snorkelling with sharks, surviving backpacking with my parents and island hopping around the Philippines!
