As part of our relaunch I decided to compile a guide to all things festival related worldwide – everything from throwing veg at La Tomatina to the mellow tunes of Bluesfest.
I also felt it was important to include some festivals that were closer to home.
August sees one of my most anticipated festival events – the Relentless Boardmasters. It’s the perfect combination of surfing, beach life and live music, all set to the beautiful backdrop of Newquay and Watergate Bay in Cornwall. So naturally I’m hoping to get behind the scenes and cover it for you all – from the water right through to a whole heap of awesome musicians.
Set over August 10-14th it features an ASP 6* surf comp, 3* longboarding comp and a womens 6* surf comp. But don’t worry it’s not all about the surf. The beachside arena overlooking Fistral plays host to a mixture of skate and BMX demos, bikini competitions and a trade village packed full of bargains – which turns into a live music venue as the sun sets – perfect!
Over at the Watergate Bay site it’s all about the music side of things though with numerous stages featuring the likes of Fat Boy Slim and The Klaxons – it’s recently gone all out festival and camping is now offered up too, what more could you want than to get your groove on overlooking the Cornish Coastline?!
Tickets are available now and camping tickets are just shy of £100 – a bargain if you ask me!
Head on over to the official website for more details, and check out the lineup below.
