On The Mend, But Landbound; My Surfing Accident

Ok so it’s been just over a week since my face collided rather savagely into my surfboard, but thankfully I’m now well on the mend and I’m looking rather more human again!

Unfortunately this does mean I’m rather frustrated with being land bound again. A healing broken nose in the surf isn’t the smartest move, and considering it seems I’ve avoided it being completely messed up I don’t want to risk doing anything stupid.
However if you know me you’d understand how much I love to surf, and therefore how frustrated I must be being forced to sit on the beach and reside to being a spectator.

Especially when a new swell has just rolled into the bay.
Even more so when the sun is beaming.

And just to ass insult to injury Nic is leaving for his ski season at the end of this week, so it looks like that unfortunate session was our last together.

Not good times.

However with my birthday just around the corner (a mere 8 days now!) I’m determined to get back in the lineup asap. I’ve had a birthday surf for probably 6years running now, and I don’t intend to break that tradition…especially because I’m spending this birthday in Byron Bay, Australia!

In the mean time I’m utilizing the extra hours I Noe find myself with shooting the Aqua crew and my mates during their sessions and I’m currently working on few writing projects – one of which for an iPad based surf magazine – but details will be divulged to you all as things get confirmed.

So yeah, no real blog info in this post, more a “my face is still broken so I can’t really do anything that interesting” update.
The only real things that have happened in the last week has been getting my stitches removed and organizing some rather epic nights out with the boys…including a spontaneous bar crawl and a superhero and gangster night!
….and it seems during the course of me writing a mexican one has just been sorted for tonight!

So still slightly happy times despite the misfortune!

Take it easy
