HOSTEL REVIEW; Equity Point, Marrakech

equity point backpacker hostel marrakech review
The Central Courtyard and Pool

Marrakech is town of craziness – where chaos rules supreme, haggling is the order of the day and where the orange glow of a sunset is mirrored in the clay walls of traditional Moroccan buildings.

With all the chaos of the cities souks a stay here – which is no doubt  high on any backpackers bucket list – needs to be accompanied with a comfy bed and a place to escape.

Equity Point Marrakech (which was recommended to me by a buddy) delivers just that.

It’s situated a couple minutes walk from the main square, which is the centre of the action and filled to the brim with traders and tourists alike, down some windy alleys. At first it seems to be located amongst a maze, but you’ll quickly get your bearings and realise it’s perfectly placed.

Once you’re through the front door the open spaces of the hostel offer up their secrets – spacious and comfy rooms, a massive sun terrace, communal area, plenty of terraces and even a central pool amongst it all. The perfect place to gather your thoughts after a sweaty day exploring this gem of northern Africa.

Facilities wise you can’t really fault the place – hot showers, buffet breakfast, wifi throughout and friendly staff who are more than happy to help you out, there’s very little they haven’t got sorted!

My Lush Private Room!

Every budget and comfort is catered for too – whether you want a mixed dorm or a private master suite. The traditional Moroccan medina style make this a very unique place to stay and the personality of the place set the tone for any backpackers trip to Morocco.

Cost wise a 8 bed dorm will set you back around £7 per night or you can go all out with a double bed private room from about £60 per night, but no matter how much you spend you’re sure of a clean and comfy nights sleep.

Check out the Equity Point website – www.equity-point.com – or their Facebook Page for more info and pics
