Over the last few months I’ve been working on a semi secret project with some blogging buddies.

All involved already have our own blogs and we’ve been ticking over nicely – but we all wanted to step it up a notch and take it to the next level. The lovely Monica of thetravelhack.com suggested a collaborative blog, where a heap of bloggers all bring their separate talents and stories together to a) create an easily sustainable blog and b) create a varied bunch of stories to keep everyone entertained!

After emails and much discussion on Facebook (which was very distracting to our actual jobs, and not really travel based…more Dan from adventureswithdan.com flirting outrageously with me!) we got the ball rolling…very slowly…but it was rolling.

And so finally today (partially due to our own commitments and partially due to my little brothers poor time management skills on the graphic design front!) I can finally announce that www.RTWBackpackers.com has been launched!

Yaaaaaaaaay!

And why today?! Well today Valentines Day of course so we’re hoping you’ll all show the site, twitter and Facebook page heaps of love and attention!

So without further delay let me introduce the RTW Backpackers Team – a bunch of Brits who have decided the rainy UK is NOT where they want to be;

Monica and Gemma (aka @thetravelhack and @gemma_howe) – currently based in London working as editors at GapDaemon

Dan (aka @AdventureWDan) – based in the Welsh Valleys, prepping for his next adventure

Poi and Kirsty (aka @NoPlaceToBe) – sunning themselves in Thailand whilst exploring Asia

The Bevster (aka @PckYourPassport) – enjoying life down under in Sydney, Australia

…and of course me (aka @BckPackerBanter) – sipping mojitos and teaching surfing in Montanita, Ecuador

Between us we’ll be bring you heaps of amazingness from throughout the world, recruiting guest posters, snapping pics and making sure we get drunk and make some bad decisions to keep you smiling at work and inspiring you to travel more. We don’t take life too seriously, but our passion is travel – bring on the carnage!
