So I’m now back in the UK for the foreseeable future, and the last few weeks have been rather jam packed with a whole heap of things.

The main aim of the game was catching up with family and friends.

My first stop was London where the plan was to party hard on my first weekend home, although this plan was soon stopped dead by the ever wonderful jetlag – cue 18 hours of being  completely KO’d and not achieving anything!

I was soon back on form when I hit Swansea to party with the little bro and have a much needed night of chaos with Mr Bentley. True to form this excursion didn’t disappoint and things got very messy, much to the delight of everyone we roped in!

Following hungover shopping I splurged on a tasty new RipCurl winter wetsuit – and North Devon was the next point of call. Hitting my home breaks was a double edged sword; a welcome distraction from being back home and “travelsick”, yet it just made me  reminisce over tasty boardshort sessions in warm Byronian waters.

In between frantic job hunting, more catch up partying, photo editing and general boredom surfing – as usual – provided my escape, and I even brought Oz with me in the form of a surf reunion with fellow Byron surfer Chris from YHA!

And with the decision to be UK based to fund further travels a long term project was needed, so a prompt investment in a new tropical aquarium was made…hopefully the long process of sculpting and building up stock will keep my mind out of trouble and add a dash of tropical dreaming to the mundane everyday living I’m currently stuck in!

…and it looks like there’s some exciting developments on the job front too :)

Post travel blues are still creeping in though, it’s going to be a tough road to readjust to life in one spot, one very rainy and cold winter spot. It does, however, give me the spur I need to start planning again…a process that I love and will hopefully give me plenty to banter about!
